Center for Key Populations
The Center for Key Populations (CKP), a program of Community Health Center, Inc., focuses on people who experience significant barriers to comprehensive, respectful, safe health care due to the high levels of stigma and discrimination they face in their communities. CKP serves individuals with serious health challenges including housing insecurity and homelessness, substance use challenges, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and domestic violence. In addition to ensuring access to high quality, evidence-based care for patients in Connecticut, CKP teaches, conducts research, and consults with health systems, all with the goal of transforming health care for vulnerable populations worldwide. In recent years, CKP has shared its expertise with health partners in Jamaica, Ukraine, Uganda, Peru, Malaysia, and the United States.
